4. Delivery & Installation

Once your building permit is secured and foundation work is underway, we’ll begin manufacturing your Preflex SIPs package. Shipping will be coordinated to align with the progress of your construction phase, ensuring timely delivery. To streamline the installation process, we recommend having your sill and bottom plates already installed before the panels arrive, allowing for immediate wall installation upon delivery. It's important to have a trained installer on-site to ensure proper handling and assembly. If you don’t have a certified builder in your area, we can connect you with a local professional or send a Preflex installation assistant to supervise your crew during the installation. Additionally, we offer builder training through our Preflex School, where you can learn everything you need to know about the installation process. Check out the Training section on our site for more details!

3. Manufacturing SIPs

In the manufacturing process of Preflex Structural Insulated Panels, we begin by utilizing the generated BIM model to create detailed SIP Master Panel Fabrication drawings. These drawings organize all SIP sections onto an 8' x 24' Master panel for efficient production. The drawings are then sent to our manufacturing floor, where we employ proprietary laser equipment to ensure precise fabrication. Our BIM software, in collaboration with our drafting team, also generates individual SIP fabrication drawings, specifying any necessary recesses, lumber, or block splines for each panel. Once fabricated, the panels undergo thorough inspection and approval by our quality control team, adhering to our stringent ICC-certified and audited Quality Control Program. Each SIP is test-fitted to ensure a perfect fit before shipping. For panels destined for California, they undergo a CA FBH inspection for structural components and are stamped with an approved Insignia to ensure compliance with local standards.

1. Architectural Design

At Preflex, we specialize in designing projects with SIPs in mind to maximize energy efficiency and performance. We can work with your existing blueprints and transform them into an optimized SIP building design, providing expert insights on how to best integrate the Preflex framing system for optimal results. Alternatively, you can choose from our portfolio of pre-engineered floor layouts, carefully crafted to take full advantage of SIPs' energy-saving benefits. For even greater customization, our experienced architect partners, well-versed in Preflex SIPs, can collaborate with you to ensure your design is perfectly aligned with energy-efficient best practices, delivering long-term savings and comfort.

2. Engineered Construction Documents

At Preflex, we work closely with you through a comprehensive engineering process to ensure your project meets the highest standards of performance and safety. Once your architectural design is finalized, our advanced BIM modeling software divides the structure into components—walls, roofs, and floors—while incorporating any additional structural elements required by the specific load design criteria for your location. After a thorough review to ensure strength, durability, and stability, our licensed Structural Professional Engineer (PE) will stamp the drawings and create a detailed calculation packet. These engineered drawings and calculations are then ready to be submitted to the Engineer of Record (EOR), who will integrate them with other engineering documents for city approvals. If needed, our expert engineering partners can also provide full Engineer of Record services, including the design of the foundation and the entire structure, to ensure seamless project execution from start to finish.
